A collision led to L.P.S Buzau getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Nistor Vaida hit a great ball. Panait Nicolescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ion Păuceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Greblă having to interfere. If Ion Păuceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Panait Nicolescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 18 played minutes STEAUA NORDULUI got a freekick which was hit by Marian Ştiopul. 37 minutes into the match, STEAUA NORDULUI's goal looked a bit too open when Ion Păuceanu came free, but Iacob Greblă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alin Varga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Nistor Hârțan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. L.P.S Buzau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave STEAUA NORDULUI the free kick. Nistor Hârțan kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Panait Nicolescu made a kick off. When Ion Păuceanu came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the L.P.S Buzau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ion Păuceanu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panait Nicolescu in the 55th minute of play forced STEAUA NORDULUI's goalkeeper Iacob Greblă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute Alin Varga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Corvin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ion Păuceanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ion Păuceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, L.P.S Buzau's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Ştiopul came free, but Irinel Corvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. STEAUA NORDULUI were victorious despite being under pressure from L.P.S Buzau for much of the match.
