Ferdinand Tincu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alin Varga in the 26th minute of the match. A collision led to Vacarea AC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Marin Poalelungi hit a great ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Alin Varga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STEAUA NORDULUI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alin Varga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdinand Tincu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugen Ştiopul in the 30th minute of the match. Maxim Bucurescu's late challenge caught a Vacarea AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maxim Bucurescu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vacarea AC booed when STEAUA NORDULUI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxim Bucurescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 33rd minute, when Vacarea AC's Silviu Vulcănescu after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Iacob Greblă in STEAUA NORDULUI's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Vacarea AC's Ferdinand Tincu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alin Varga in the 37th minute of play. Marian Ştiopul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Tincu having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vacarea AC's zone, Alin Varga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferdinand Tincu came out of the goal and Alin Varga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alin Varga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Ştiopul in the 48th minute of play forced Vacarea AC's goalkeeper Ferdinand Tincu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Răzvan Brumă was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costin Manciulea in the 55th minute of play forced STEAUA NORDULUI's goalkeeper Iacob Greblă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alin Varga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Vacarea AC's Marin Poalelungi got a free kick in the 61st minute. 65 minutes into the match, STEAUA NORDULUI's goal looked a bit too open when Răzvan Brumă came free, but Iacob Greblă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute Eugen Ştiopul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Tincu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Eugen Ştiopul took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Ferdinand Tincu to make any attempt to save it. After 79 played minutes, STEAUA NORDULUI's Maxim Bucurescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ferdinand Tincu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in STEAUA NORDULUI reached it. Iacob Greblă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costin Manciulea, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When Sergiu Emilianu fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STEAUA NORDULUI's protests and gave Sergiu Emilianu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to STEAUA NORDULUI getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Sergiu Emilianu hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched STEAUA NORDULUI eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
