Spectators: 7511 (Terracing: 5634, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Irinel Staicu made the kick off which started today's match. Irinel Staicu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Romeo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Valentin Ghiondea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Romeo having to interfere. Valentin Romeo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Staicu in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Irinel Staicu in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentin Romeo saved Tantarul from getting behind. Romeo Moldoveanu hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the game, Sever Capătă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tantarul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Licuriciu the free kick. A collision led to Tantarul getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Sever Capătă hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Irinel Staicu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentin Romeo was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valentin Romeo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Valentin Ghiondea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Valentin Romeo. Tantarul's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Eugen Grozuță came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Licuriciu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugen Grozuță couldn't finish the play. If Irinel Staicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irinel Staicu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. Licuriciu's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Valentin Romeo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irinel Staicu in the 74th minute of the match. In the 83rdth minute of the game Irinel Staicu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tantarul's Valentin Romeo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Irinel Staicu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Valentin Romeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Irinel Staicu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Licuriciu's Irinel Staicu got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Licuriciu could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tantarul throughout the match.
