But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horaţiu Beligan couldn't finish the play. In the 49th minute of the match Garbovita UFC got a corner. AS Roma-nia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manole Ştercă ran over to the corner to take the kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Costel Bărboianu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind AS Roma-nia's goalkeeper Marcel Alupoaie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, AS Roma-nia's goalkeeper Marcel Alupoaie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horaţiu Beligan.
