But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maxim Moldovan couldn't finish the play. 6 minutes into the match, CF Braila's goal looked a bit too open when Silviu Pătrășconiu came free, but Nechifor Ignătescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Codruț Aurelianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vasile Gheorghiță hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Nicu Șeimeanu made a precise shot to the right of Nechifor Ignătescu. CF Braila's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 22 minutes, Silviu Pătrășconiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Vointa and the CF Braila players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes FC Vointa got a freekick which was hit by Silviu Pătrășconiu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codruț Aurelianu in the 24th minute of play forced CF Braila's goalkeeper Nechifor Ignătescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Horia Pascu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nechifor Ignătescu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Nicu Șeimeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to CF Braila getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. George Apostolescu hit a great ball. After 32 minutes of play, FC Vointa's Silviu Pătrășconiu made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nechifor Ignătescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Maxim Moldovan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silviu Pătrășconiu struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Nechifor Ignătescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Vointa. After some careless play in the CF Braila defense, Codruț Aurelianu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nechifor Ignătescu. The CF Braila fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nechifor Ignătescu should have stopped the shot. Nicu Șeimeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The CF Braila players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Vointa were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and George Apostolescu made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, George Apostolescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nechifor Ignătescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicu Șeimeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute, Codruț Aurelianu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nechifor Ignătescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Nicu Șeimeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Ignătescu having to interfere. Codrin Uncheşelu kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Silviu Pătrășconiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicu Șeimeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CF Braila's Nechifor Ignătescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicu Șeimeanu in the 88th minute of play.
