Cobweb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Tremurici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dorel Poenaru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolae Ghimiș went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 15 minutes into the match, SCORPIONII's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Ghimiș came free, but Dorel Poenaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernest Tremurici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorel Poenaru having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Lucian Cerghizan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernest Tremurici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Dorel Poenaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorel Poenaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolae Ghimiș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorel Poenaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolae Ghimiș in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolae Ghimiș in the 35th minute of play forced SCORPIONII's goalkeeper Dorel Poenaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nicolae Ghimiș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolae Ghimiș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Dorel Poenaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee gave Cobweb a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Răzvan Patriciu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SCORPIONII's Dorel Poenaru. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sergiu Botgros was the one to do the kick off. Vlad Vochin hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ernest Tremurici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilian Ţeica kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Cobweb's Ernest Tremurici got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 82 played minutes Cobweb got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Ghimiș. Nicolae Ghimiș could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Dorel Poenaru made a huge save. Sever Muncelean's late challenge caught a Cobweb's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sever Muncelean helped the player get up and apologised. 92 minutes into the match, Nicolae Ghimiș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dorel Poenaru. SCORPIONII's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolae Ghimiș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 94 played minutes Cobweb got a freekick which was hit by Pompiliu Todericiu. Cobweb's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
