The tension between the CS UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA and the MVB Buzau players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexandru Sabău took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bogdan Mangra. Bogdan Mangra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 84th minute, Alex Coroian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 87 minutes, Viorel Hăulică managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CS UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viorel Hăulică was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CS UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA fans cheered their team off the field, for while MVB Buzau had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
