Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alexandri's Gelu Zubaşcu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of COPACABANA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alexandri:s goal. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for Alexandri. Manuel Spirea stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Calistrat Alucusan. 1-0. Mircea Buricea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. COPACABANA's Calistrat Alucusan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gelu Zubaşcu in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Alexandri's Mircea Buricea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Calistrat Alucusan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anton Blănaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gică Constantinescu having to interfere. After some careless play in the COPACABANA defense, Mircea Buricea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calistrat Alucusan. The COPACABANA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calistrat Alucusan should have stopped the shot. After 30 played minutes COPACABANA got a freekick which was hit by Lucian Tănăsescu. In the 31st minute, Mircea Buricea reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Calistrat Alucusan. The goal made the score 3-0. After 37 minutes of play, Alexandri's Mircea Buricea made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Calistrat Alucusan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gică Constantinescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iulian Argăseală in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Iulian Argăseală got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute Anton Blănaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gică Constantinescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gică Constantinescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Blănaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iulian Argăseală was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Lucian Tănăsescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the COPACABANA and the Alexandri players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lucian Tănăsescu hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Gelu Zubaşcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gelu Zubaşcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Calistrat Alucusan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gelu Zubaşcu in the 60th minute of play forced COPACABANA's goalkeeper Calistrat Alucusan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mircea Buricea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Calistrat Alucusan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, COPACABANA's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelian Berechet came free, but Calistrat Alucusan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calistrat Alucusan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gelu Zubaşcu in the 86th minute of the match. Calistrat Alucusan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelu Zubaşcu in the 88th minute of play. Mircea Maghear charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mircea Maghear the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mircea Maghear kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Mircea Buricea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to COPACABANA getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Iulian Argăseală hit a great ball. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by COPACABANA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manuel Spirea was slow to take the kick. During this time Alexandri's players had a chance to rest. Alexandri walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
