Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gelu Zubaşcu to make the kick off. Costică Patriciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Aurelian Berechet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costică Patriciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nechifor Podgoreanu hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Manuel Spirea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicu Iuonaș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Gică Constantinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicu Iuonaș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gică Constantinescu having to interfere. If Nicu Iuonaș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mircea Maghear charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mircea Maghear the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 77 played minutes Alexandri got a freekick which was hit by Mircea Maghear. A collision led to BVB BORUSSIA DORTMUND getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Claudiu Silişteanu hit a great ball. Costică Patriciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelu Zubaşcu in the 81st minute of play. Costică Patriciu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mircea Buricea in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute of the match, Mircea Buricea got a very nice opportunity to score, but Costică Patriciu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Alexandri walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
