The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Grigore Filipașcu hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, R-Team's Marius Zdrobău got a free kick in the 13th minute. Aurel Sitaru was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Augustin Uncheşu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Cocioc SC's Sergiu Rădescu got control of the ball when Dorin Țepelea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sergiu Rădescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorin Țepelea in the 21st minute. If Emanuel Arnăuțescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bogdan Dedu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augustin Uncheşu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vali Dobrica having to make a save. Cocioc SC's Sergiu Rădescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgil Manta in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Virgil Manta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergiu Rădescu having to interfere. When Augustin Uncheşu came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Cocioc SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augustin Uncheşu couldn't finish the play. Bogdan Dedu kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59thth minute of the game Virgil Manta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cocioc SC's Sergiu Rădescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute of the match R-Team got a corner. Cocioc SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florin Grecea ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Arnăuțescu in the 64th minute of play forced R-Team's goalkeeper Vali Dobrica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augustin Uncheşu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Vali Dobrica tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 76 in the game by Augustin Uncheşu from a close distance when the talented Vali Dobrica managed to make a qualified save. R-Team's players were relieved. After having played for 95 minutes, Augustin Uncheşu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cocioc SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augustin Uncheşu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Cocioc SC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
