Spectators: 7495 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gelu Zubaşcu started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, R-Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Minteuan to maneuver through the defense. In the 3rd minute, Mircea Buricea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alexandri fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 6th minute, Aristide Ghețea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mircea Buricea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vali Dobrica having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Mircea Buricea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute Mircea Buricea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vali Dobrica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gelu Zubaşcu in the 20th minute of play forced R-Team's goalkeeper Vali Dobrica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mircea Buricea came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Alexandri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mircea Buricea couldn't finish the play. Mircea Buricea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexandri's Gelu Zubaşcu got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Grigore Filipașcu charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Grigore Filipașcu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of R-Team:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alexandri:s goal. After having played for 39 minutes, Mircea Buricea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alexandri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mircea Buricea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 42 minutes, Gelu Zubaşcu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alexandri and the R-Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mircea Buricea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Vali Dobrica tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Virgil Manta was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, one of R-Team:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for R-Team. With a little luck, R-Team's Vali Dobrica got control of the ball when Mircea Buricea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mircea Maghear's late challenge caught a R-Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mircea Maghear helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of R-Team booed when Alexandri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mircea Maghear didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgil Manta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vali Dobrica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gelu Zubaşcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurelian Berechet struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Vali Dobrica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alexandri. A collision led to R-Team getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Aristide Ghețea hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gelu Zubaşcu in the 78th minute of play forced R-Team's goalkeeper Vali Dobrica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Alexandri getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Isac Albu hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Virgil Manta in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gică Constantinescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 85 minutes into the match, R-Team's goal looked a bit too open when Gelu Zubaşcu came free, but Vali Dobrica reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mircea Buricea made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 87thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Vali Dobrica would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The audience was convinced that Gelu Zubaşcu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vali Dobrica was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Vali Dobrica made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Mircea Buricea sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd match minute, R-Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florin Grecea to maneuver through the defense. Vali Dobrica made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Manuel Spirea sent off a good shot on target. Gelu Zubaşcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vali Dobrica having to interfere. Alexandri's Mircea Buricea got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
