In the 35th minute, CatusBelicus's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Toader Tatulici fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Barcelona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toader Tatulici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barcelona's Stelian Cinteză played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gică Chițac in the 40th minute of play. Gică Chițac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Toader Tatulici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Mihnea Zubaşcu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Anton Sorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

CatusBelicus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toader Tatulici was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the CatusBelicus players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Barcelona.
