Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristinel Chifu in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stelian Anisie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 14th minute Urmenisul were awarded a corner. Francisc Tunaru went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Dragugesti's goalie and right to Ionel Ispir. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Dragugesti's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 16 minutes into the game, Cristian Durbac was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dragugesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Urmenisul the free kick. 17 minutes into the game, Alex Tincu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The supporters of Urmenisul booed when Dragugesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Calomfirescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Urmenisul's Francisc Tunaru broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Stelian Anisie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristinel Chifu, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Francisc Tunaru was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Pompiliu Smarandache struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Stelian Anisie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dragugesti's goalkeeper Stelian Anisie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Urmenisul players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
