Pompiliu Smarandache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Calciu having to interfere. After having played for 18 minutes, Cristinel Chifu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Urmenisul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristinel Chifu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pompiliu Smarandache to make the kick off. Adam Calciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pompiliu Smarandache in the 57th minute of the match. When Șerban Cubleșan fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olesti's protests and gave Șerban Cubleșan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Olesti getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Șerban Cubleșan hit a great ball.
