Mădălin Meleșcanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iustin Frâncu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Andrei Săvulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrei Săvulescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iustin Frâncu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 35 played minutes poiana Mare FC got a freekick which was hit by Iacob Gârneț. After recieving a nice pass, Borussia Dortmund's Leontin Marinică tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Iustin Frâncu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Merișor in the 38th minute of the match. After 44 played minutes, Borussia Dortmund's Leontin Marinică shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iustin Frâncu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. After the first half Borussia Dortmund were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dan Merișor to make the kick off. Andrei Săvulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Iustin Frâncu made a huge save. Silviu Petrean took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugen Răduțu. Eugen Răduțu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. During the 63rd minute of the match Iacob Gârneț completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Iacob Gârneț a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 65th minute, Silviu Petrean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 minutes, Eusebiu Ionaș mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the poiana Mare FC and the Borussia Dortmund players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eusebiu Ionaș hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Iustin Frâncu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dan Merișor showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 90 minute of play. In the 94th minute, Andrei Săvulescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
