Iustinian Răuţă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Praporgescu in the 29th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pavel Smarandache in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iustinian Răuţă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 41 minutes, Mădălin Zmărăndescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zgaroesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mădălin Zmărăndescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pavel Smarandache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Horia Bușcu might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iustinian Răuţă. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iustinian Răuţă came out of the goal and Horia Bușcu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pavel Smarandache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Virgil Lupulescu fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua Bcr.'s protests and gave Virgil Lupulescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Steaua Bcr. getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Virgil Lupulescu hit a great ball. Iustinian Răuţă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgar Praporgescu went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Iustinian Răuţă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Praporgescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 minutes, Flavius Chirilă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Steaua Bcr. and the Zgaroesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Pavel Smarandache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iustinian Răuţă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Praporgescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. An unexpected shot in the 78th minute by Pavel Smarandache got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 81 minutes into the match, Steaua Bcr.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Praporgescu came free, but Iustinian Răuţă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
