With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iustinian Răuţă prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octav Doinaș in the 4th minute of play forced Steaua Bcr.'s goalkeeper Iustinian Răuţă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th match minute, UFC ROMAN CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiberiu Stolnicu to maneuver through the defense. Virgil Lupulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Codruț Semeghin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steaua Bcr.'s Virgil Lupulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Răzvan Ghionescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Boștină in the 21st minute of play forced UFC ROMAN CLUB's goalkeeper Codruț Semeghin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Răzvan Ghionescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Iustinian Răuţă made a huge save. Răzvan Ghionescu had several of the Steaua Bcr.'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 27 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Iustinian Răuţă as he didn't even see the shot coming. Octav Doinaș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Octav Doinaș who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Iustinian Răuţă when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Octav Doinaș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Iustinian Răuţă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basarab Agusoaei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Răzvan Ghionescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iustinian Răuţă read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Basarab Agusoaei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codruț Semeghin having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basarab Agusoaei to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of UFC ROMAN CLUB booed when Steaua Bcr. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iulian Zdrenghea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iustinian Răuţă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Ghionescu in the 53rd minute of play. Octav Doinaș scored 2-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iustinian Răuţă, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 60th minute, Tiberiu Stolnicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Codruț Semeghin made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Virgil Lupulescu sent off a good shot on target. Octav Doinaș struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Iustinian Răuţă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UFC ROMAN CLUB. Iustinian Răuţă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Răzvan Ghionescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
