Basarab Agusoaei might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cornel Gurgui. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basarab Agusoaei ran back to his position shaking his head. If Virgil Lupulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manole Lupșoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustinian Răuţă having to interfere. Iustinian Răuţă came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Pogon Szczecin's Manole Lupșoiu. But to his dismay, Manole Lupșoiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Manole Lupșoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pogon Szczecin's supporters rose to their feet, but Manole Lupșoiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iustinian Răuţă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Manole Lupșoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Iulian Zdrenghea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Costel Axinte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Steaua Bcr.'s Dinu Boștină got a free kick in the 26th minute. Iulian Zdrenghea's late challenge caught a Pogon Szczecin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iulian Zdrenghea helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 played minutes Steaua Bcr. got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Zdrenghea. Manole Lupșoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustinian Răuţă having to interfere. A collision led to Steaua Bcr. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Dinu Boștină hit a great ball. After 35 played minutes, Pogon Szczecin's Dinu Suşu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iustinian Răuţă came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pogon Szczecin reached it. Iustinian Răuţă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manole Lupșoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Costel Axinte struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Iustinian Răuţă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pogon Szczecin. Iustinian Răuţă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costel Axinte, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manole Lupșoiu to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Steaua Bcr. booed when Pogon Szczecin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sever Chiliman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute, Basarab Agusoaei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iustinian Răuţă made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Costel Axinte sent off a good shot on target. Costel Axinte who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Iustinian Răuţă when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Iustinian Răuţă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manole Lupșoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, Manole Lupșoiu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pogon Szczecin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Costel Axinte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Iustinian Răuţă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niculae Hurmuzescu charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niculae Hurmuzescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Niculae Hurmuzescu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Steaua Bcr.'s Iustinian Răuţă proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Steaua Bcr. from getting a goal against them. Manole Lupșoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustinian Răuţă having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Manole Lupșoiu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iustinian Răuţă was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Costel Axinte ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iustinian Răuţă was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Costel Axinte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Costel Axinte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Iustinian Răuţă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pogon Szczecin's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
