Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Steaua Bcr.'s Basarab Agusoaei started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Basarab Agusoaei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iustinian Răuţă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezar Olariu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Oltchim's zone, Virgil Lupulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Minulescu came out of the goal and Virgil Lupulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Basarab Agusoaei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua Bcr.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Basarab Agusoaei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irinel Minulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Virgil Lupulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Virgil Lupulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Minulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oltchim's Matei Datcu came free and shot a quick shot against goal 31 minutes in the game, fortunately Iustinian Răuţă had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Mihăiţă Postolache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Iustinian Răuţă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iustinian Răuţă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezar Olariu in the 39th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Basarab Agusoaei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Minulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Oltchim got a freekick which was hit by Alex Poenaru.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cezar Olariu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Steaua Bcr.'s Flavius Chirilă got a free kick in the 51st minute. Iustinian Răuţă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezar Olariu in the 56th minute of play. Steaua Bcr.'s Virgil Lupulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cezar Olariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustinian Răuţă having to interfere. Irinel Minulescu made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Virgil Lupulescu sent off a good shot on target. If Basarab Agusoaei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Steaua Bcr.! In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Oltchim. Alexandru Gavruță stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Iustinian Răuţă. 1-0. Oltchim's Irinel Minulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Oltchim from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Agusoaei in the 82nd minute of play forced Oltchim's goalkeeper Irinel Minulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Irinel Minulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basarab Agusoaei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Basarab Agusoaei reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Irinel Minulescu. The goal made the score 1-1. The supporters of Oltchim booed when Steaua Bcr. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basarab Băieșu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Matei Datcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
