Iustinian Răuţă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferdinand Urdea in the 6th minute. Nicodim Ţopescu kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua Bcr.'s zone, Ferdinand Urdea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iustinian Răuţă came out of the goal and Ferdinand Urdea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basarab Agusoaei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Mugurel Ogășanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Virgil Lupulescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steaua Bcr. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Mugurel Ogășanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basarab Agusoaei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Steaua Bcr.. Basarab Băieșu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mugurel Ogășanu. 0-2. 27 minutes into the game, Iulian Zdrenghea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steaua Bcr.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC FCSB the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Steaua Bcr. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iulian Zdrenghea to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Mugurel Ogășanu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Steaua Bcr.'s Iulian Zdrenghea got a free kick in the 65th minute. FC FCSB's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Constantin Pascaru in the 67th minute. After taking down the ball on FC FCSB's corner Constantin Pascaru fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Iustinian Răuţă quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC FCSB's zone, Virgil Lupulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mugurel Ogășanu came out of the goal and Virgil Lupulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basarab Băieșu kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Basarab Agusoaei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugurel Ogășanu having to interfere. In the 81stth minute of the game Ferdinand Urdea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Steaua Bcr.'s Iustinian Răuţă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Sergiu Vâlceanu fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC FCSB's protests and gave Sergiu Vâlceanu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC FCSB getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Sergiu Vâlceanu hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Virgil Lupulescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua Bcr.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Virgil Lupulescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mugurel Ogășanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Basarab Băieșu kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. If Ferdinand Urdea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Steaua Bcr. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
