Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cursaru's Nicu Floruțiu got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emil Ivan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emil Ivan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Traian Drăgănoiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But to his dismay, Eric Apopei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The wind increased when Gigel Petcu made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Niculae Vişan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Cursaru booed when Cernatesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogdan Gafița didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cursaru's Eric Apopei got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Eric Apopei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eric Apopei fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cursaru's protests and gave Eric Apopei a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th match minute, Cursaru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Apopei to maneuver through the defense. After 90 minutes, Nicu Floruțiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cursaru and the Cernatesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Nicu Floruțiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute Gigel Petcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Buta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cernatesti supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cursaru's performance. The match ended with a win for Cursaru.
