Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 149) Corneliu Udrescu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pompiliu Panaiteanu in the 3rd minute of play forced Cernatesti's goalkeeper Traian Drăgănoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gigel Petcu came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Cernatesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigel Petcu couldn't finish the play. Gigel Petcu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dumitru Ştef made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cornel Balaban in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pompiliu Panaiteanu in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Traian Drăgănoiu saved Cernatesti from getting behind. Doru Zotincă made a great header on Ghergheleu CSS's corner, it was just that Cernatesti's Traian Drăgănoiu managed to reach the ball for a save. Corneliu Udrescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Corneliu Udrescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eric Zub kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Stelian Ruşdea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dumitru Ştef came out and tried to block the shot, but Stelian Ruşdea slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gigel Petcu was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ghergheleu CSS's Pompiliu Panaiteanu got a free kick in the 51st minute. Dumitru Ştef showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Balaban in the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Ghergheleu CSS's goal looked a bit too open when Gigel Petcu came free, but Dumitru Ştef reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cernatesti booed when Ghergheleu CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisc Florea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonard Drăgan's late challenge caught a Cernatesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Drăgan helped the player get up and apologised. Francisc Florea hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Cornel Balaban struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Dumitru Ştef didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cernatesti. Cornel Balaban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dumitru Ştef tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Pompiliu Panaiteanu came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Ghergheleu CSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pompiliu Panaiteanu couldn't finish the play. After having played for 73 minutes, Corneliu Udrescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ghergheleu CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corneliu Udrescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cernatesti's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Corneliu Udrescu scored to the left of an out of position Traian Drăgănoiu, making the score, 1-1. Traian Drăgănoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corneliu Udrescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. With a little luck, Cernatesti's Traian Drăgănoiu got control of the ball when Pompiliu Panaiteanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cernatesti had won after a very even match.
