The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Bata got a freekick which was hit by Viorel Prunaru. Lucian Voinescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Albescu in the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of Bata booed when U.T.A.-S.U.R. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Dedu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Alex Loghin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucian Voinescu skillfully saved the ball. The U.T.A.-S.U.R. fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when U.T.A.-S.U.R.'s Teodor Cozmâncă looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Viorel Prunaru kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Lucian Voinescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vasile Moisescu went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Marcel Turlea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
