George Sichitiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silviu Bordeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Sichitiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxim Mihăescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After a defensive mix-up in VT Asycuda's zone, Martin Vochin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Sichitiu came out of the goal and Martin Vochin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. VT Asycuda's Liviu Murărașu got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silviu Bordeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Sichitiu having to interfere. Laurențiu Săvoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Blăjan having to interfere. A collision led to VT Asycuda getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Marius Vermeşan hit a great ball. George Sichitiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Bordeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. VT Asycuda's Matei Alexandroae got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Gerbovec's goalkeeper Viorel Blăjan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matei Alexandroae. When VT Asycuda's Matei Alexandroae in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Martin Vochin scored 0-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of George Sichitiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Liviu Murărașu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in VT Asycuda's zone, Martin Vochin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Sichitiu came out of the goal and Martin Vochin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the match, Gerbovec's Silviu Bordeanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George Sichitiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Filip Pârlog kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Martin Vochin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. George Sichitiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gigel Lazăr hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gerbovec's zone, Nechifor Creangă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viorel Blăjan came out of the goal and Nechifor Creangă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 minutes Gerbovec's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marin Bogdănescu who took care of the corner kick. Martin Vochin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 100th minute of the match, but George Sichitiu made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gerbovec eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
