Calistrat Frânculescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calistrat Sântimbrean in the 3rd minute of the match. The supporters of OSK booed when Vederea AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Alucai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Frumușanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Geoană in the 7th minute of the match. After 10 minutes, Ovidiu Cismaș mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OSK and the Vederea AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Liviu Chelaru fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored OSK's protests and gave Liviu Chelaru a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th match minute, OSK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liviu Chelaru to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Gigi Drăgoi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of OSK's Calistrat Frânculescu. Calistrat Frânculescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Gigi Drăgoi came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Vederea AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gigi Drăgoi couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, OSK's Marian Ecobici got a free kick in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Calistrat Sântimbrean had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Calistrat Frânculescu. OSK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Calistrat Sântimbrean was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After the first half Vederea AC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gigi Drăgoi to make the kick off. The supporters of Vederea AC booed when OSK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Traian Beșliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the game, OSK's Marian Ecobici nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Frumușanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Marian Ecobici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ivan Frumușanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gigi Drăgoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Calistrat Sântimbrean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vederea AC's supporters rose to their feet, but Calistrat Sântimbrean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calistrat Frânculescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Calistrat Frânculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Drăgoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liviu Chelaru kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. If Gigi Drăgoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Geoană in the 78th minute of play forced Vederea AC's goalkeeper Ivan Frumușanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigi Drăgoi struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Calistrat Frânculescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vederea AC. A collision led to Vederea AC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Vasile Pantilimon hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the game, Gigi Drăgoi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Calistrat Frânculescu. Gigi Drăgoi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. 91 minutes into the game, one of OSK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 92 minutes, Vederea AC's Petruț Siniştean got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Calistrat Frânculescu. After a defensive mix-up in OSK's zone, Gigi Drăgoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calistrat Frânculescu came out of the goal and Gigi Drăgoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
