Mircea Zubaşcu ran back to his position shaking his head. Mircea Zubaşcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorin Cubleșan having to interfere. The supporters of F.C. Universitatea Cluj booed when Perisanii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petru Macarie didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mircea Zubaşcu made a kick off.
