The audience was convinced that Eric Trapcea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucian Goga was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Marcu Vasiloiu struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Lucian Goga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for METAXA. Eric Trapcea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marcu Vasiloiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. METAXA's Gigel Buciuman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Traian Penciulescu in the 26th minute of play. Puini's Lucian Goga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Trapcea in the 30th minute of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Alin Gavra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puini's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alin Gavra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucian Goga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Trapcea in the 43rd minute of play. Gigel Buciuman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traian Penciulescu in the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eric Trapcea to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Aristide Goanță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Buciuman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, METAXA's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Penciulescu came free, but Gigel Buciuman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Puini's zone, Marcu Vasiloiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucian Goga came out of the goal and Marcu Vasiloiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Eric Trapcea managed to get in a good position for a shot. METAXA's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Trapcea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucian Goga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Octav Nicodim hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Lucian Goga was a little too slow when Eric Trapcea got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Gigel Buciuman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traian Penciulescu in the 68th minute of the match. Alin Gavra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Buciuman having to interfere. Gigel Buciuman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Penciulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Eric Trapcea kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Eduard Cantemir got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Marcu Vasiloiu came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the METAXA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcu Vasiloiu couldn't finish the play. METAXA played a much better game than Puini and deserved their victory. The Puini players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
