When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavius Claudiescu made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, F.C. Universitatea Cluj's Doru Macarie got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Francisc Chiru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorin Cubleșan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flavius Claudiescu in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorin Cubleșan saved F.C. Universitatea Cluj from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Albert Dobrescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Calistrat Cîrțu. That made the score 2-3 in the 65 minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Mugurel Marioteanu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Calistrat Cîrțu, 2-4. Daniel Nițu struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Dorin Cubleșan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PG FC. If Francisc Chiru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorin Cubleșan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PG FC. 94 minutes into the match, F.C. Universitatea Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Flavius Claudiescu came free, but Dorin Cubleșan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Although PG FC had been in control for most of the match, F.C. Universitatea Cluj still came away with the win.
