The referee ignored Pirjolesti's protests and gave Nicodim Stolojan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pirjolesti's Nicodim Stolojan got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Sorin Barbăroșie took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pavel Bălcescu. Pavel Bălcescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Mircea Cângea made the kick off in the second half. Ionuț Noica's late challenge caught a Pirjolesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ionuț Noica helped the player get up and apologised. Aristide Vanghelie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Aristide Vanghelie put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Eric Dică. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gledeny's goalkeeper Eric Dică, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eric Dică showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornel Cernescu in the 63rd minute of the match. Pirjolesti's Pavel Bălcescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mircea Cângea in the 71st minute of play. Mircea Baldu kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Pavel Bălcescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mircea Cângea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pavel Bălcescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mircea Cângea, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 86th play minutes Mircea Cângea shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Pavel Bălcescu and just under the crossbar into goal. Mircea Cângea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Pavel Bălcescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Mugurel Stoicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornel Cernescu in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eric Dică saved Gledeny from getting behind. Gledeny's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
