Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dacian Crașovan got the match started through his kick off. 10 minutes into the match, Steaua United's George Brezoi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cezar Frențiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Romeo Cristian came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Steaua United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeo Cristian couldn't finish the play. George Brezoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezar Frențiu having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dacian Crașovan in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mircea Ciocâlteu saved Steaua United from getting behind. When Claudiu Comișel came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Cyprus Hools fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudiu Comișel couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the game, Victor Mihăilescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Steaua United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cyprus Hools the free kick. A collision led to Steaua United getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Victor Mihăilescu hit a great ball. Claudiu Comișel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mircea Ciocâlteu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dacian Crașovan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cezar Frențiu came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Steaua United's George Brezoi. But to his dismay, George Brezoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romeo Cristian to strike the kick off in the second half. The long shot by Toader Bogatu in the 58th minute really tested Mircea Ciocâlteu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Claudiu Comișel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dacian Crașovan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mircea Ciocâlteu having to interfere. George Brezoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeo Cristian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Cezar Frențiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88thth minute of the game George Brezoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cyprus Hools's Cezar Frențiu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cyprus Hools's zone, Romeo Cristian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cezar Frențiu came out of the goal and Romeo Cristian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victor Mihăilescu got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 96 played minutes Steaua United got a freekick which was hit by Victor Mihăilescu. Dacian Crașovan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Mircea Ciocâlteu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
