Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mihail Pantelimon kicked off to start the match. The Gelu CS fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Gelu CS's Marcel Codreanu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eliodor Lupea struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Dumitru Mardarescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gelu CS. Mihail Pantelimon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Moise Căplescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 18 minutes, Mihail Pantelimon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cherba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mihail Pantelimon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dumitru Mardarescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Codreanu in the 21st minute of the match. After 22 played minutes Cherba got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Brădescu. Moise Căplescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolae Secoşan's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. A hard shot 27 in the game by Eliodor Lupea from a close distance when the talented Dumitru Mardarescu managed to make a qualified save. Cherba's players were relieved. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cherba's goalkeeper Dumitru Mardarescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Cherba's zone, Marcel Codreanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dumitru Mardarescu came out of the goal and Marcel Codreanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Virgil Brădescu fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cherba's protests and gave Virgil Brădescu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th minute, Virgil Brădescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dumitru Mardarescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Codreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd match minute, Cherba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgil Brădescu to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Marcel Codreanu took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Dumitru Mardarescu to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Mihail Pantelimon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moise Căplescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihail Pantelimon in the 60th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Mihail Pantelimon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 72 minutes into the game, Gelu CS's Eliodor Lupea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dumitru Mardarescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Nicolae Secoşan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moise Căplescu having to interfere. Nicolae Secoşan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 played minutes Mihail Pantelimon rounded Gelu CS's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. In the 92nd minute of the match Mădălin Ivan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Moise Căplescu skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Codreanu in the 93rd minute of play forced Cherba's goalkeeper Dumitru Mardarescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gelu CS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cherba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
