Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tudor Onitiu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Codreanu in the 3rd minute of play forced FC Bucuresti's goalkeeper Teodor Firu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gelu CS booed when FC Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavril Iorda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliodor Lupea got free with Teodor Firu in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute Marcel Codreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodor Firu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Alex Petruț was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Bucuresti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gelu CS the free kick. Alex Petruț hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Gelu CS's Marian Stoicescu got a free kick in the 27th minute. Marian Stoicescu kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Teodor Firu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 43rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ştefan Şuplăcan. After the first half FC Bucuresti were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcel Codreanu to make the kick off. After 52nd play minutes Marcel Codreanu shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Teodor Firu and just under the crossbar into goal. Horaţiu Crușeveanu charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Horaţiu Crușeveanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eliodor Lupea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Teodor Firu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Eliodor Lupea came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Gelu CS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliodor Lupea couldn't finish the play. Teodor Firu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliodor Lupea in the 66th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcel Codreanu in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodor Firu saved FC Bucuresti from getting behind. Eliodor Lupea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodor Firu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Codreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gavril Iorda hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, FC Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Eliodor Lupea came free, but Teodor Firu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80thth minute of the game Eliodor Lupea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Bucuresti's Teodor Firu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Eliodor Lupea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodor Firu was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. If Marcel Codreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Gelu CS's Marcel Codreanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teodor Firu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC Bucuresti's Teodor Firu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliodor Lupea in the 97th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
