Spectators: 7481 (Terracing: 5612, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 149) FC BEBI's Mircea Burtescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FC BEBI's Gabriel Harnagea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Mihăilescu in the 3rd minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, FC BEBI's Mircea Burtescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mircea Ciocâlteu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Steaua United's Mircea Ciocâlteu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petru Dijmărescu in the 20th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Romeo Cristian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua United's supporters rose to their feet, but Romeo Cristian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Harnagea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Steaua United's Romeo Cristian slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gabriel Harnagea. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. George Brezoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Harnagea having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Steaua United's Gabriel Harnagea threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Romeo Cristian, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when George Brezoi got free with Gabriel Harnagea in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Mircea Burtescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Romeo Cristian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Brezoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romeo Cristian to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Steaua United's goal looked a bit too open when Mircea Burtescu came free, but Mircea Ciocâlteu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mircea Ciocâlteu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mircea Burtescu in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Brezoi in the 62nd minute of play forced FC BEBI's goalkeeper Gabriel Harnagea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the game, Petru Dijmărescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Mircea Ciocâlteu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mircea Ciocâlteu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calistrat Iuzbașa, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute, Ion Gherghescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, FC BEBI's Ilie Sârbu tried to score from far away in the 79th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Mircea Burtescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Romeo Cristian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute, Mircea Burtescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Liviu Chelbea charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Liviu Chelbea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
