If Dacian Şneapotă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th match minute, Steaua United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liviu Chelbea to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romeo Cristian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Brezoi couldn't finish the play. After 54 minutes of play, Iepuresti CF's Remus Oproiu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mircea Ciocâlteu was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Iepuresti CF booed when Steaua United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Rădoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mircea Ciocâlteu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dacian Şneapotă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mircea Ciocâlteu came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Iepuresti CF's Aurel Zdrenghea. But to his dismay, Aurel Zdrenghea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Mircea Ciocâlteu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurel Zdrenghea in the 71st minute of play. In the 71st minute, Victor Mihăilescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute Dacian Şneapotă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Ciocâlteu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dacian Şneapotă in the 77th minute of play forced Steaua United's goalkeeper Mircea Ciocâlteu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mircea Ciocâlteu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dacian Şneapotă in the 89th minute of the match. Mircea Ciocâlteu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dacian Şneapotă in the 91st minute of play. Aurel Zdrenghea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dacian Şneapotă in the 94th minute of play forced Steaua United's goalkeeper Mircea Ciocâlteu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Steaua United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Iepuresti CF.
