Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cyprus Hools's Dacian Crașovan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Constantin Tătaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alin Micu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Cezar Frențiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Stiinta's goalkeeper Vintilă Bejgăneanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudiu Comișel. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Claudiu Comișel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cyprus Hools's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudiu Comișel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vintilă Bejgăneanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the match, Cyprus Hools's goal looked a bit too open when Alin Micu came free, but Cezar Frențiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cyprus Hools! In the 22ndth minute of the game Constantin Tătaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cyprus Hools's Cezar Frențiu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Codruț Isăcescu charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Codruț Isăcescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd minute, Codruț Isăcescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cyprus Hools's Cezar Frențiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantin Tătaru in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Alin Micu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Cyprus Hools's goal looked a bit too open when Constantin Tătaru came free, but Cezar Frențiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Claudiu Comișel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vintilă Bejgăneanu. Claudiu Comișel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Cezar Frențiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Cyprus Hools's zone, Constantin Tătaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cezar Frențiu came out of the goal and Constantin Tătaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stiinta's Constantin Tătaru got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alin Micu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Cezar Frențiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cyprus Hools's Cezar Frențiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Cyprus Hools from getting a goal against them. In the 87th match minute, Stiinta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Panait Popoiu to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match Aristide Aursulesei sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vintilă Bejgăneanu skillfully saved the ball. Iacob Coja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cezar Frențiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alin Micu in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Stiinta left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cyprus Hools.
