Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Iacob Balaban started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Aron Bungescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Adam Troncotă made a huge save. Stelian Nechifor hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stelian Nechifor during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, JIU PETROSANI's Stelian Nechifor got a free kick in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aron Bungescu got free with Adam Troncotă in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Aron Bungescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergiu Pârvan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Adam Troncotă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, JIU PETROSANI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxim Boerescu to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Pavel Enache from long distance, 13 minutes into the match, got Adam Troncotă's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Iurie Cristescu hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. JIU PETROSANI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Aron Bungescu scored to the left of an out of position Adam Troncotă, making the score, 1-0. Ilie Nicorici's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelian Gheorghe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Augustin Medrea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adam Troncotă. That made the score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. Aron Bungescu in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Adam Troncotă, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When JIU PETROSANI's Ilie Nicorici in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ilie CSu's goalie prevented a goal. Aurelian Gheorghe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iacob Balaban in the 39th minute of the match. Aurelian Gheorghe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilie Nicorici, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sergiu Pârvan made a kick off. The supporters of JIU PETROSANI booed when Ilie CSu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugen Filipașcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aron Bungescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Troncotă having to interfere. Maxim Boerescu was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, JIU PETROSANI's Maxim Boerescu got a free kick in the 59th minute. Ilie Nicorici blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelian Gheorghe having to make a save. If Ilie Nicorici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute Sergiu Pârvan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Troncotă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelian Gheorghe was a little too slow when Gavril Ghiondea got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 2-1. Aron Bungescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes into the match, JIU PETROSANI's goal looked a bit too open when Aron Bungescu came free, but Adam Troncotă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ilie CSu's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
