The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emanuel Săraru during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Budieni fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Gogora a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mircea Lopatnicu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Budieni's Nistor Dobre. 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Gogora's goal looked a bit too open when Constantin Homescu came free, but Ioan Tolea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Andrei Rădoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nistor Dobre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Milea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When %teams%'s Constantin Homescu was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-1 just inside the left pole, 17 minutes into the game. Ioan Tolea was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Fabian Milea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the game, Viorel Archiudean was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Budieni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gogora the free kick. Gogora's Andrei Rădoi got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabian Milea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrei Rădoi in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nistor Dobre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Gogora's zone, Constantin Homescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ioan Tolea came out of the goal and Constantin Homescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gogora's Ioan Tolea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Gogora from getting a goal against them. Fabian Mincu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ioan Tolea having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Constantin Homescu to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Andrei Rădoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gogora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrei Rădoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albert Achim's late challenge caught a Gogora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albert Achim helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd minute, one of Budieni:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Budieni. The referee gave Gogora a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mircea Lopatnicu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Budieni's Nistor Dobre. 1-2. Fabian Mincu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ioan Tolea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. After 68 played minutes Gogora got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Dulca. Marian Dulca was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Gogora's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Mincu came free, but Ioan Tolea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 73rd minute of the match Viorel Archiudean completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Viorel Archiudean a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 74 played minutes Budieni got a freekick which was hit by Viorel Archiudean. Claudiu Chirea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ioan Tolea having to interfere. Gogora's Ioan Tolea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Mincu in the 83rd minute of play. Fabian Mincu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ioan Tolea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gogora walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
