Nistor Dobre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Barascu in the 3rd minute of the match. After 3 played minutes Budieni got a freekick which was hit by Viorel Archiudean. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Budieni's goalkeeper Nistor Dobre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Lotasi AC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Dragoş Cismaș hit a great ball. Fabian Mincu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Claudiu Agrigoroaiei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mihnea Mereuță charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mihnea Mereuță the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Lotasi AC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Mihnea Mereuță hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Constantin Homescu in the 16th managed to get into a good position. Ivan Olariu charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Claudiu Agrigoroaiei acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Marcel Hortopan. After 28 minutes, Petrică Cârnațiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lotasi AC and the Budieni players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Lotasi AC got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Cârnațiu. Constantin Homescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Agrigoroaiei having to interfere. Claudiu Agrigoroaiei made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Fabian Mincu sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th minute Constantin Homescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudiu Agrigoroaiei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Constantin Homescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valer Tapalagă stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Claudiu Agrigoroaiei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Constantin Homescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The audience was convinced that Fabian Mincu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudiu Agrigoroaiei was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Lotasi AC's zone, Constantin Homescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudiu Agrigoroaiei came out of the goal and Constantin Homescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vali Pipirig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Nistor Dobre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Constantin Homescu struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Claudiu Agrigoroaiei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Budieni. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabian Mincu in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudiu Agrigoroaiei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Petrică Cârnațiu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. The supporters of Budieni booed when Lotasi AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Cârnațiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Lotasi AC defense, Fabian Mincu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudiu Agrigoroaiei. The Lotasi AC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudiu Agrigoroaiei should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Budieni's Claudiu Chirea got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Budieni's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
