After 10 played minutes, Verbia CS's David Manea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Costel Moisil came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Verbia CS reached it. In the 13th minute David Manea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costel Moisil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihai Zdrehuş during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FCSB's Mihai Zdrehuş got a free kick in the 19th minute. FCSB's Costel Moisil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vali Homeag in the 21st minute of play. Costel Moisil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucrețiu Melinte, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The audience was convinced that Vali Homeag's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Costel Moisil was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, FCSB's Tudor Chivu got a free kick in the 34th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihai Zdrehuş was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosmin Stancu in the 52nd minute of play forced Verbia CS's goalkeeper Ion Cârstea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verbia CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Manea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosmin Stancu in the 83rd minute of play forced Verbia CS's goalkeeper Ion Cârstea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Claudiu Nica fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verbia CS's protests and gave Claudiu Nica a yellow card for diving instead. FCSB's Nistor Onaca couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Verbia CS. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Mihai Zdrehuş managed to get in a good position for a shot. FCSB's supporters rose to their feet, but Mihai Zdrehuş was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ion Cârstea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cosmin Stancu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Verbia CS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
