Viorel Tunaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ioan Cercelescu was the one to do the kick off. Dumitru Muntean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Antohi having to interfere. Paul Antohi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Niculae Domuță's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Iustin Geoană hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Simbrias were furious when Iustin Geoană was red carded, 70 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Simbrias fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 72 minutes, STEAUA PLOIESTI's Ioan Cercelescu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Marian Lupoi. In the 75th minute, Alexandru Boldur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Niculae Domuță notched a goal, 4-4, to the right of STEAUA PLOIESTI's Paul Antohi. Paul Antohi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paul Antohi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dumitru Muntean went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-4 was the resulting score. Claudiu Muncelean who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 97thth minute tested the skills of Marian Lupoi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Simbrias's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
