When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Dorel Cerghizan put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Damian Tudorică. Ciprian Istrătescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Oprescu in the 19th minute of the match. When Marcu Stroici fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Malina's protests and gave Marcu Stroici a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute, Marcu Stroici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciprian Istrătescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucian Oprescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After having played for 30 minutes, Traian Almăgean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Malina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Traian Almăgean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The wind increased when Lucian Oprescu made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Dinamo Bucureşti booed when FC Malina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doru Budianu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Tudorică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Almăgean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damian Tudorică made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Dorel Cerghizan sent off a good shot on target. Dorel Cerghizan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damian Tudorică read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Iurie Turceanu charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Bucureşti's Iurie Turceanu got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 91st minute Traian Almăgean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Tudorică saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Andrei Buhăescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dinamo Bucureşti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Malina the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dorel Cerghizan got free with Damian Tudorică in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 98th minute FC Malina were awarded a corner. Emanuel Porumboiu went to the cornerflag to take it. The FC Malina supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Malina would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
