FC Malina's Traian Almăgean got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Dorel Cerghizan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Sergiu Macrea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Dinamo Bucureşti's zone, Dorel Cerghizan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Tudorică came out of the goal and Dorel Cerghizan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Traian Almăgean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Dinamo Bucureşti's Damian Tudorică got control of the ball when Dorel Cerghizan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Dinamo Bucureşti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicodim Dima to maneuver through the defense. After 48 minutes Dinamo Bucureşti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emanuel Porumboiu who took care of the corner kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucian Oprescu to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucian Oprescu in the 54th minute of play forced FC Malina's goalkeeper Ciprian Istrătescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 played minutes Dinamo Bucureşti got a freekick which was hit by Sever Penescu. In the 57th minute, Emanuel Porumboiu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Dinamo Bucureşti's Damian Tudorică didn't even have to move. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dinamo Bucureşti's goalkeeper Damian Tudorică, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lucian Oprescu struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ciprian Istrătescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dinamo Bucureşti. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorel Cerghizan in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damian Tudorică prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Damian Tudorică came out of the goal and Dorel Cerghizan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Damian Tudorică took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Almăgean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucian Oprescu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ciprian Istrătescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Lucian Oprescu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 84th minute. Sergiu Macrea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sergiu Macrea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciprian Istrătescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Oprescu in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dinamo Bucureşti eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
