The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Gigi Cârțan made the kick off in the second half. Gigi Cârțan charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 79 played minutes Atleti got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Giosu. After a defensive mix-up in Atleti's zone, Gigi Cârțan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pavel Sucigan came out of the goal and Gigi Cârțan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roland Bronkala struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Florin Malcoci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atleti. Atleti's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
