Spectators: 7468 (Terracing: 5602, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. George Şuteu started the match with the kick off. If Alex Lăzărescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Napoca United's George Şuteu got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 18 played minutes Napoca United got a freekick which was hit by Calistrat Creteanu. 19 minutes into the match, DrumLung's Ionel Cârneci broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 23rd minute Mugur Ionescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nistor Bălașa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Isăilă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nistor Bălașa having to interfere. In the 29th minute of the match Alex Vlăsiu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ionuț Șora skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, George Şuteu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Napoca United's supporters crossed their fingers, but George Şuteu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alex Lăzărescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Martin Pârvuță hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, DrumLung's goal looked a bit too open when George Şuteu came free, but Ionuț Șora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, DrumLung's Ionel Cârneci got a free kick in the 42nd minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mugur Ionescu was the one to do the kick off. Napoca United's Nistor Bălașa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Ionescu in the 52nd minute of play. Nistor Bălașa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugur Ionescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Nistor Bălașa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mugur Ionescu in the 56th minute. In the 61st minute, Mugur Ionescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nistor Bălașa. The goal made the score 0-2. In the 64th minute, Alex Lăzărescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. George Şuteu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Alex Lăzărescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ionuț Șora. DrumLung's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Lăzărescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers George Şuteu in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ionuț Șora saved DrumLung from getting behind. Ionuț Șora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Lăzărescu in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Napoca United's Costel Zamfir got a free kick in the 86th minute. Ionel Cârneci was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ionel Cârneci lost his temper 92 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 92nd minute, one of DrumLung:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for DrumLung. After 98th play minutes George Şuteu shot 3-2, a short shot which went by Ionuț Șora and just under the crossbar into goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Napoca United had won after a very even match.
