Eric Elisei came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nistor Bălașa could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Şuteu in the 25th minute of play forced F.C Târgoviște's goalkeeper Valentin Baciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Elisei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Elisei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nistor Bălașa having to interfere. Toader Căplescu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 32nd minute. F.C Târgoviște's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Eric Elisei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Nistor Bălașa made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, F.C Târgoviște's Eric Elisei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nistor Bălașa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nistor Bălașa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toader Căplescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for George Şuteu to strike the kick off in the second half. Toader Băncilă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nistor Bălașa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rdth minute of the game George Şuteu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C Târgoviște's Valentin Baciu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eric Elisei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Nistor Bălașa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eric Elisei scored 3-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nistor Bălașa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Olimpiu Joanță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 94th minute Eric Elisei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nistor Bălașa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calistrat Creteanu's late challenge caught a F.C Târgoviște's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Calistrat Creteanu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Napoca United getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Calistrat Creteanu hit a great ball. In the 97th minute, Eric Elisei ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nistor Bălașa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. F.C Târgoviște walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
