Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cristi Hănescu got the match started through his kick off. Dacian Sucigan kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristi Hănescu in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrei Nistorescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Viorel Bărănescu hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Cristi Hănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 22 in the game by Mihăiţă Honciu from a close distance when the talented Andrei Nistorescu managed to make a qualified save. Universitatea Pitești's players were relieved. With a little luck, Universitatea Pitești's Andrei Nistorescu got control of the ball when Mihăiţă Honciu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Universitatea Pitești's Andrei Nistorescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Universitatea Pitești from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute of the match Gorgova got a corner. Universitatea Pitești's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dumitru Raţiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Gorgova's corner Ovidiu Mihu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Andrei Nistorescu quite easily take care of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Universitatea Pitești's goal looked a bit too open when Cristi Hănescu came free, but Andrei Nistorescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristi Hănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Andrei Nistorescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Mihăiţă Honciu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gorgova fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anton Afloarei to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Gorgova getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Dacian Sucigan hit a great ball. In the 57th minute of the match Cătălin Ghiță shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihai Barbă showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mihăiţă Honciu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anton Afloarei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihai Barbă having to interfere. Cătălin Ghiță's shot from long distance in the 63rd minute was not bad at all, but Gorgova's Mihai Barbă knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Mihai Barbă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Afloarei in the 71st minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Gabriel Măndica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristi Hănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Nistorescu having to interfere. When Gorgova's Cristi Hănescu in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Universitatea Pitești's goalie prevented a goal. Andrei Nistorescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristi Hănescu in the 84th minute of play. Universitatea Pitești's Andrei Nistorescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihăiţă Honciu in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute Cătălin Ghiță ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Mihai Barbă. 2-1. Mihăiţă Honciu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Andrei Nistorescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gorgova's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
