Andrei Nistorescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gelu Bala in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrei Nistorescu saved Universitatea Pitești from getting behind. If Anton Afloarei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrei Nistorescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gelu Bala in the 25th minute of play. Andrei Nistorescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cătălin Joldea's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. FC PESCARII's Ciprian Baldazar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save FC PESCARII from getting a goal against them. Ciprian Baldazar came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Universitatea Pitești's Eugen Buciu. But to his dismay, Eugen Buciu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of FC PESCARII booed when Universitatea Pitești was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihail Şunda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cătălin Joldea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Nistorescu having to interfere. When Gelu Bala came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the FC PESCARII fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gelu Bala couldn't finish the play. 41 minutes into the match, Universitatea Pitești's goal looked a bit too open when Gelu Bala came free, but Andrei Nistorescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

FC PESCARII's Ciprian Baldazar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Afloarei in the 52nd minute of play. Cătălin Joldea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Nistorescu having to interfere. Cătălin Joldea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Andrei Nistorescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gabriel Măndica's late challenge caught a FC PESCARII's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Măndica helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Universitatea Pitești getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Gabriel Măndica hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, FC PESCARII's Iulian Teodoroiu got a free kick in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Afloarei in the 91st minute of play forced FC PESCARII's goalkeeper Ciprian Baldazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC PESCARII's Cătălin Joldea got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded FC PESCARII left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Universitatea Pitești.
