After a defensive mix-up in Troias CSS's zone, Mihăiţă Honciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iordache Harbuz came out of the goal and Mihăiţă Honciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the game, Vintilă Andreescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Troias CSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gorgova the free kick. Cristi Hănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Iordache Harbuz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viorel Bărănescu hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the game, Ovidiu Mihu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gorgova's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Troias CSS the free kick. In the 19th minute, Ovidiu Mihu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mihai Barbă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vlad Oncescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Iordache Harbuz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mihăiţă Honciu's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After 26 played minutes Troias CSS got a freekick which was hit by Costel Hurmuz. Mihăiţă Honciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihăiţă Honciu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iordache Harbuz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Iordache Harbuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristi Hănescu in the 42nd minute of play. Cristi Hănescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iordache Harbuz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristi Hănescu ran back to his position shaking his head. Mihăiţă Honciu scored 0-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iordache Harbuz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristi Hănescu made a kick off. Iordache Harbuz made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Mihăiţă Honciu sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute, Francisc Vişoianu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the game, Gorgova's Mihăiţă Honciu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iordache Harbuz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 70 minutes of play, Gorgova's Cristi Hănescu made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iordache Harbuz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Iordache Harbuz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristi Hănescu in the 75th minute. In the 75th match minute, Troias CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisc Vişoianu to maneuver through the defense. If Mihăiţă Honciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute Cristi Hănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iordache Harbuz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, one of Troias CSS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Troias CSS. In the 85th minute there was a penalty for Gorgova. Dumitru Raţiu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Iordache Harbuz. 0-4. Iordache Harbuz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristi Hănescu in the 94th minute of the match. Troias CSS's Iordache Harbuz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristi Hănescu in the 96th minute of play. Mihăiţă Honciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordache Harbuz having to interfere.
