Iordache Harbuz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Afloarei in the 19th minute of the match. Francisc Vişoianu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Andrei Nistorescu 20 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the game, Aristide Donciu threw the ball into play from the sideline. Troias CSS's Pavel Nuțu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Vlad Oncescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Vlad Oncescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Nae Pociu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Troias CSS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universitatea Pitești the free kick. A collision led to Universitatea Pitești getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Basarab Moțoc hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Anton Afloarei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universitatea Pitești fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 85th minute Anton Afloarei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iordache Harbuz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Troias CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Nuțu to maneuver through the defense. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Universitatea Pitești to win.
