The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Olteni CSS getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Narcis Vasilian hit a great ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Claudiu Marina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olteni CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudiu Marina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Olteni CSS's Emanuel Florean in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 40 minutes, Emanuel Florean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olteni CSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Florean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Narcis Costache charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Narcis Costache the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stelian Cipău's late challenge caught a Arsenal Londra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stelian Cipău helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes Olteni CSS got a freekick which was hit by Stelian Cipău. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristi Ungureanu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Arsenal Londra's goalkeeper Liviu Gârleanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Arsenal Londra's Rareș Răducu got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Emanuel Florean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liviu Gârleanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Florean, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Emanuel Florean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Liviu Gârleanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Claudiu Marina fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Liviu Gârleanu, passed just outside the right post. Ernest Dănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Buciu having to interfere. Claudiu Marina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristi Ungureanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcel Buciu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristi Ungureanu ran back to his position shaking his head. Emanuel Florean's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Liviu Gârleanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. If Cristi Ungureanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olteni CSS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
